The traditional method for teaching leadership skills is to gather executives into a classroom for self-awareness assessments, discussion facilitation and team-building exercises. We are not sure whether knowing which “color” or “shape” you are on some four-quadrant behavioral matrix is meaningful leadership development.
But we are sure that even great leadership workshops require executives to be away from critical operating issues for hours or even days. And sit through hours of discussion for the few things they can really use.
